Fundamentals of skeet:-
The game of skeet consists of shooting at 24 targets from 8 different shooting positions. In some forms of the game, you repeat your first miss, or if you don’t miss any of them, you shoot 2 targets from the Low House at Station 8. This shot is known as your Option Shot and is the 25th shot of a round. Skeet was invented in 1926 at the Glen Rock Kennels in Andover, Massachusetts. Skeet was a name given to the sport after a contest to name it was held; skeet is the Swedish term for “to shoot”.
The basic fundamentals of skeet shooting are pretty simple:
- Focus your eye on the target, not the sight bead
- Have a stance that allows you to swing at the hips
- Lead the target (shoot in front of it)
- Keep your head on the gun’s stock
